Alright time for this week’s last video game themed blog! What game is it this time? A Persona 4 blog! At Ask Izanagi and Friends, you can ask questions for all your favorite Personas, but ponified!

Ok now I’ll admit, I’ve never played Persona 4, or really any of them, though I will admit the concepts usually seem interesting. Still, even though I’ve never played the games, I know enough about the series to get the in-game references, and even the jokes that I don’t know the references for are still funny enough for those who aren’t fans of the franchise to get.

And some scenes make more sense than others….

And some things are just damn adorable.

Well that’s Izanagi and his friends! My personal opinion? The art style is wonderful, the characters are likeable, the references are funny, and all in all the blog is very humorous and funny. The blog pulls off being adorable and almost cute at times without shoving it down your throat with cuteness overload, not that that’s always a bad thing but still, sometimes you just want more random goofy fun than just something super cute. And that’s just what this blog gives you, and because of those reasons this blog has been gaining more and more in popularity, so don’t miss out on this wonderful blog!

On another note, the mod did request I give a shout out to their friends who also run Persona pony blogs. I, however, will not be giving them shout outs. Instead, for the next couple of weeks, every week will feature one of those blogs getting their own personal Spotlight. So look forward to seeing those blogs in the future!

Also, you may be wondering why this was posted early Saturday morning instead of Friday night like it was supposed. Well I’m embarrassed to say but I sort of, well, fell alseep on my keyboard. Fun fact though: it ended up typing out 62 pages worth of just random characters. So yeah, that was a fun little surprise this morning. Well guys, I hope to see you Sunday for our Weekly Special Spotlight. Also we have a special announcement later today.

Huh, I never really thought about that. I always felt that Spotlight Heart wasn’t an OC that belonged to me so much as he belonged to the Spotlight blog. I never even found a date for my actual OC Wild Sword (Which is hard considering he doesn’t even have a blog). But Spotlight? I don’t know…

I guess it would be ok for him to do Miss Romancedy’s Valentine’s thing or go to the Pony Prom with someone.

Hey guys! Time for another Pony Spotlight, keeping up with this week’s video game theme. Hey, do you guys like Portal? I know I do. Remember those comical turrets? Of course you do! Well guess what? It’s a pony now! Tonight’s blog is Ask Turret Pony!

Here, we follow a ponified turret as she explores APPLETURE Laboratories (Yeah I get the pun too). Here, she answers questions from followers while also dealing with her boss, Glados.

Trying to decide whether she’s actually more threatening here or in the game. Jeez, and you thought your boss was bad. But hey, it could be worse…..No, wait. No it couldn’t.

Though she’s a mechanical turret-pony, she’s actually very light-hearted, friendly mare, which is much different tan her video game counterpart. Personally, I think I like a more light-hearted personality to be honest. Just make sure you don’t mention Chell or try to surprise her…

Personally, I’m actually looking forward to how this blog does in the future. It’s got a good set up that makes for a lot of possibilities, and I can’t wait to see what the mod does with it. But in the mean time, it’s time to call it a night (well it is early Thursday morning, but I’ve been up all night so to me it counts!)

Oh and as for all of you who I told there was going to be to cake? I lied. And I want you all to know I’m sorry about that, even though I’m not.

Hey, you know what game I really love? Minecraft. Particularly the Survival portion. You know what else I love? Ponies. Particularly Pony blogs. So what happens if you put these two in a blender of awesomeness? You get Silver Spoon Adventures!

Oh Yeah! I went there baby! I just really loved this blog from the moment I saw it. Just the idea alone is a great enough set up, but the fact that they go out of their way to blend in game scenes with a drawn style really gets my interest, and it’s pretty well intigrated too.

This is our little Silver Spoon who, through a series of events, has found herself stuck on an island that I’m sure is very familiar to us all. Here, we watch as she tries to not only survive but also to contact help…

…Along with the great lengths she’ll have to try and go through to accomplish those goals.

But hey, don’t worry. The blog is actually pretty fun and lighthearted for the most part as well, with plenty of in-game references for all you Minecraft fans out there, and yet those same jokes still remain funny for those who are unfamiliar with the game to find just as humorous as well.

Alright so lets just do a quick recap here in case anyone missed it (or you’re just skimming this post. I KNOW SOME OF YOU DO IT!)

 It’s a great blog with a good premise, interesting ideas, well intigrated, and humorous to boot. What’s not to love? And lets be honest, there’s a small part of us that sort of enjoys seeing Silver Spoon have to go through so much trouble. And now, best of all, it has….DRUM ROLL PLEASE!

“She’s the cute little filly that lives up in Cloudsdale! So lets go check out what home is like living in the clouds!”

“I wish my mornings and evenings got me such a view. Seriously, not even the folks living in Canterlot get that nice of a view, and they actually pay thousands for what they already got!”

“Well, getting back on topic, Annebiare is an adorable little filly who admires Princess Celestia and aspires to one day help her to raise the sun! Just be careful when you ask her to play Princesses, she tends to fangirl out a bit…”

“Is she going to be alright….?”

“Well, I suppose so. Lets see what kind of things Annebiare has told us a about herself, like what about that infamous marking on her back?”

“That…That just brings up more questions than it answers honestly. Though that means that fillies do take after their fathers. Guess Mr. Cake was wrong…”

“Well, it seems her followers really like getting to know things about her, because along with the coloring on her back and her aspirations, she’s even been asked to tell us her sign, which is actually a first from what I’ve seen. Funny, I’ve never thought to ask anyone that before…”

“And just like that a new trend is born…”

“As for Annebiare’s personality, she’s pretty a pretty lovable little filly, with that innocent charm that’s just so excitable and adorable, the kind you really can only get from someone as young as her, though she can get a bit cranky at times if you ask her to do something she doesn’t want, like going to school…”

“Now something I really like to do is compare an artist’s older work with their newest style. It really gives you a great appreciation for how far they’ve come, and how we as their viewers have watched them grow and improve over time. Don’t believe me? Just take a comparison at her old and new styles.”

I’ve been talking to some of the other guys on whether or not we should start doing streams in between our Spotlight days in order to keep you guys entertained. Nothing major, just us watching a few anime episodes and movies. After all, watching anime is fun, but watching it with friends is awesome!

And it will give you guys a chance to interact with each other and talk about each others blogs with one another.

Howdy guys! We’ve actually gotten a couple of requests for tonight’s Spotlight to show off, so here it is! Princess Parfait!

Wow, that’s a lot of sparkles, even for a prom dress! This is miss Parfait. She’s not really a princess, she’s just really into fairy tales for some reason. The only other thing she likes more than fairy tales, seems to be sweets, which actually makes a great ice breaker with her.

And when I say she loves sweets, I mean she REALLY loves sweets….

….Maybe too much. Haha. The blog has been around for about a month, and can get pretty goofy and random at times.

Still, Parfait knows how to be both adorable and entertaining, while also keeping up an enjoyable if somewhat random art style. Not only that, but you’ll be happy to know she seems to have found a cute prom date in one of our previous Spotlights, Science Woona!

So if you like goofy and cute ponies aspiring to follow in the footsteps of fairy tales while eating ice cream, then you are very picky and should seek some help. As for the rest of you sane individuals, I suggest you go check out Parfait!

Well, tonight’s blog has been growing in popularity quite recently it seems, topping in at over 200 followers apparently after it’s first day! Wow. I mean that’s pretty intense? Well without further ado, here’s Second Sight from Headless In Hoofington!

Now this blog is a little bit darker in tone than our usual Spotlight. Not to say it has any gore or grimdark in it, far from it in fact, but rather can be quite brooding as much as it is charming.

The artistic style might not be as bright, colorful, or even as smooth as other blogs we’ve reviewed (such as her sister who runs the Minty blog), but really the smudged, darker tones really fit well with the character and the setting, creating a gritty sort of atmosphere that sets up for a sympathetic character trying to continue on living, despite never getting ahead in life. Yeah, I get the pun too. Sorry about that folks.

How, may you ask then, did they come about losing their head and being left with only a floating eye? Well, unfortunately that would be too much of a spoiler, but there is this…

The character is both interesting and unique, and while the story might be darker somewhat in tone, it doesn’t try to beat you over the head with it in a way other blogs would, but keeps it pretty well balanced, giving you more potential for character development rather than just trying to make everything depressing for the sake of depression, as you actually can see WHY this character would have these struggles, not just that they have them for [insert random reason here] just so they can make the character brooding because it may be more interesting, and because of that you actually feel an attachment towards the character and feel sympathy for what they’re going through.

Alright guys! It’s Monday night and you know what that means! Time for our next Spotlight! Tonight’s lucky pony is the always cute Annebiare!

Cute little thing isn’t she? This is Annebiare (which is a pretty unique name for a pegasus now that I think about it), and she’s a little filly that lives in Cloudsdale, and has some big asperiations for when she grows up.

Annebiare is a student in school right now, much to her dismay. Still she loves to smile and be helpful to others, even though she might not be able to help all that much…

Nothing quite like the cuteness and innocence of a filly is there? And you have to admit, her design is just as unique as her name. From her color scheme, to her beautiful mane, and most notably the large discoloring on her back. If you want a blog with some good quality art, plenty of cuteness, and the adorable innocence of a filly, then you should check out Annebiare!

Most people are happy enough just using the one, but apparently this mod likes being random and juggling a couple of different styles at once, and I certainly don’t have a problem with it at all. After all, part of art is to keep trying out new things right? And no matter what style she uses it always looks great. I mean seriously, you have to admire the detail put in to these things! Now if only she would lend me some of that talent…“
